Parenting Courses

Gateway Family Services provide a range of parenting courses in various parts of the Blue Mountains. These courses are run to help support and educate parents and carers with the tools and insights to help them raise children and feel more confident in their parenting. Most courses have childcare available, so you are better able to come. These courses are a great resource to tap into.

Parenting Courses

Thrive Services is a not for profit community organisation that supports children, families & others living in the Lithgow and Blue Mountains areas.

All our programs are free and voluntary. We do this by providing parenting and family programs, along with practical assistance. At Thrive we believe in celebrating people’s achievements and strengths, as well as supporting them through the challenges of parenting and life.

WASCOE SIDING

First Sunday of each month, Wascoe Siding is open to the public. A ride on train experience for the kids, and parents too of course. You buy your ticket and ‘all aboard’ for a ride around the grounds, over bridge under tunnel, each ticket gets you a few laps. There is a kiosk on site, lots of room for picnics as well as covered area with tables and chairs. You must wear covered shoes to board the train- so take note if you are planning to visit and bring the right footwear.

Glenbrook Markets

GLENBROOK MARKETS

Located in the beautiful lower Mountains town of Glenbrook, is the popular Glenbrook Markets. Lots to check out with 30-40 stall hosted by locals, and activities for the children are sometimes provided.

WHEN: 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month
WHERE: Glenbrook Public School
TIME: 8am-1pm

Blackheath Markets

BLACKHEATH COMMUNITY MARKET

Purchasing Local where we can is such a great consideration to make. Putting your local growers market into your calendar to do your shopping will make that easier. Be sure to keep this one in mind if you are Upper Mountains, or even if you are not.
