Parenting Courses

Gateway Family Services provide a range of parenting courses in various parts of the Blue Mountains. These courses are run to help support and educate parents and carers with the tools and insights to help them raise children and feel more confident in their parenting. Most courses have childcare available, so you are better able to come. These courses are a great resource to tap into.

First Sunday of each month, Wascoe Siding is open to the public. A ride on train experience for the kids, and parents too of course. You buy your ticket and ‘all aboard’ for a ride around the grounds, over bridge under tunnel, each ticket gets you a few laps. There is a kiosk on site, lots of room for picnics as well as covered area with tables and chairs. You must wear covered shoes to board the train- so take note if you are planning to visit and bring the right footwear.

See all the Museum’s regular attractions including trains, large & small, and take 20 minute rides on the Heritage Listed Steam Tram. Don’t forget the two model rooms and take time for a coffee or snack in the café, before you browse the shop.

Cat in the Hat

Dr Seuss- Cat in the Hat

 This much loved story comes to life in a wonderful performance. The Cat in The Hat interrupts this rainy afternoon with his unexpected visit to Sally and her brother’s home. Their outraged pet Fish is astounded, but this cat will not be deterred. He will teach us all to make our own fun with nothing but a little imagination. Along with Thing One and Thing Two, the cat will fill the theatre with mischievous humour and madcap style.

Springwood Foundation Day is always a fun and festive Day for families. It celebrates the village’s heritage and showcases what it has become and is held in the main street of Springwood. Lots of local stall holders, concerts by local creatives and fun activities for the kids. There is something for everyone to enjoy.
