Kids Kingdom

Mt Victoria Museum

A little piece of history at the top of the Mountain- this small Museum is housed in 16 rooms with displays including: Convict relics and the first roads over the mountains, Tools and early farm equipment, Kitchen furniture, cookware and household appliances, Music room collection, Railway refreshment room and tourist memorabilia collection, Local history collection, Natural history collection/ mel ward collection, Camera and precision machines collection, Clothing, accessories / textiles collection. Indoor Swimming Pool- Springwood

Springwood Aquatic Centre has a great children’s area and indoor so swimming is possible no matter what the season or the weather. There are water fun constructions around the pool as well as a whirlpool and large slide- available 11-1pm on weekends. There is also a therapy pool and 25m lap pool to use, when not being used for swim lessons.

Katoomba aquatic centre has an indoor pool so accessible any time of the year in any weather. Good for all different ages including a toddler pool to splash in and a 25m lap pool to swim some laps.

Museum of Fire

Though not strictly Blue Mountains as is located in Penrith. It is at the age of our mountains and quickly accessible to lower Mountains residents especially. This museum is a great destination for many ages. A childrens area to play in that fosters learning about fire safety, ride on engines, colouring, dress ups and puzzles as well as a grand selection of fire engines to look at. Indoors makes it a great destination in any weather, and if it is favourable weather there is a playground outside the museum also.

Flip out Penrith

Though not strictly Blue Mountains as is located in Penrith. It is at the age of our mountains and quickly accessible to lower Mountains residents especially. This is essentially a building filled with trampolines. Various areas to ounce, some geared more for younger ones. Viewing platforms all around so parents can watch from above or from the side lines. Can be busy and loud but kids love it.

Valley Heights Locomotive

Valley Heights Locomotive is a unique museum with various exhibitions and memorabilia including trains, maps and history of railways in the blue mountains. Train rides available as well which is always a treat. Kids love trains, and the history will interest the adults, perfect little day trip for the family.

Toy and railway museum

Leurella House is a beautiful building that is rich in history. Its rooms now house a vast collection of toys that have been the memories of many generations of young and old. It is a museum so look no touch is enforced which may be hard for some children 🙂 They may be more entertained outside where grand displays for toy railway tracks have been constructed for their enjoyment. The grounds themselves are beautifully kept with many little gardens to explore should the weather permit.

Waradah Aboringinal Centre

Waradah Aboriginal centre has performances every 30 minutes. Where you can experience Aboriginal culture through dance, art and artefacts. The Centre is also near to Echo point and 3 sisters so you can venture out to a lookout afterwards to make the most of your visit.
