SCHOOL HOLIDAY INSPIRATION
I thought I would try to consolidate your search and list some things here that might be worth considering these school holidays.
I hope this provides some inspiration for you and your family to enjoy these holidays both in and around the Blue Mountains!
One of the best resources in the Blue Mountains is the School Holiday Calendar created by Stronger Families Alliance.

In addition to that, here are some ideas to consider:
Exploring Outdoors
Search here for many child friendly bush walks, including maps for you to try.
There are 55 Playgrounds in the Blue Mountains. Search Here for my Top 10 favourite Playgrounds including links to where you find the others.
Check out the Explorer Bus too
Gardens and Outdoor Adventure that are Open
Many of these sites need to be booked for time ticketed entry in order to keep to restrictions so check before turning up.
Aquatic Centres (including some outdoor pools opening)
Trees Adventure in Yarramundi (currently closed)
High and Wild Mountains Adventures
Adventure Park at Fairmont Resort Leura
Horse Riding: check out these sites for their offerings
Hawkesbury Valley Equestrian Centre,
Museums- Blue Mountains and Sydney
And if you feel like a bit of a day trip, there are some interesting exhibitions for kids at these Sydney Museums:
Powerhouse Museum in Sydney– (currently closed)
Australian National Maritime Museum
Cinemas
Zoos
Not local to the Blue Mountains, but always worth a day trip.
Workshops
Wacky Workshops in Glenbrook, also has great inspiration on their Facebook page.
Kids can Act workshops in Springwood
Blue Mountains City Council Library- Online and in person workshops
School Holiday Activities at Chapters and Leaves Faulconbridge
Home Inspiration
A few sites that I find inspiring when I am looking for activities to do things with my kids at home.
Download Borrow Box app for access to books for reading and listening digitally
Penrith Library- activity packs
I hope this helps you find some inspiration.
Remember to be Kind to yourself. Our kids do not need a full program of activities, and our blue mountains backyards are full of sticks and stones to create magic with.
Hope we all get a mixture of respite and recreation.
Blessings,
Rachel xx
